However, if you are having issues, please see the Zoom knowledge base for troubleshooting video and audio problems. When hosting a session, use a wired headset when possible. This will increase the audio quality, decreases the chance for echoes or audio distortion, and will be more reliable than a wireless headset. Bluetooth audio devices can increase latency, are prone to connection issues, and can run low on battery during a session. Whilst most standard USB audio and video devices will automatically work, Zoom has a list of officially supported devices on this page.

Zoom can allow you to conceal or blur the background of your camera, replacing it with an image or video. To set a background or filter, click your profile menu and open the Zoom application Settings.

Please note the quality of this feature can be impacted by your PC specifications — technical requirements are available on this page. If your PC does not meet the requirements, you may still use the feature, but you must have a green screen or neutral background in order for Zoom to distinguish your image from the background. But it is not "future-proof" in that a system purchased today will probably not be able to support all the proposed DRM features of Windows Vista without major hardware changes, including CPU, RAM, motherboard and graphics card so that's pretty much everything.

I am already able to play a DVD in p with Nvdvd - overlay But any other parameter slow dramaticaly down my perfs. It will be dedicated Thank you for any help Jeff.

Posted 07 May - PM I think Zoom Player itself is the least important component in this case as far as system requirments go. It's just a front end and all the other thinngs you mentioned are what will be doing the bulk of the work. ZP itself will proly run fine on the lamest old PII you can find and proly even older. GeForceFX and up for nVidia. No clue about ATi. The other stuff needs some horsepower though. The next intel chip that should be coming out in a few months and is already reviewed in several sites is running faster and cooler than current generation chips.

I believe the chip name is Conroe, but I may have a typo. It's the desktop version of the as yet unreleased Merom. Merom is a laptop processor that will replace the current Yonah and supports EM64T. Merom is expected out this summer and the Conroe proly wont be out until winter or early but thats just my guess. So, Our PC wouldn't probably have to be so powerfull because of the quality of the source. The graphic cards will probably be the main working part of the PC. Is it right or stupid? ATi proly has comparable hardware if that's yer thing to but I don't know what models do it.

Like mr. Though odds are this new content wont arrive in mass for several more years and by then the card will be obsolete anyway. So yea you can greatly reduce the system requirements and eliminate the need for FFDshow and other filters by doing everything in hardware and by using a good graphics card. That's a proof of wisdom Thank you for your answers It help me really. I mean, it would seem that actual requirements in term of CPU would be good enough for coming technologies. And a Geforce would be a good starting Graphic card that would be replaced later considering new technologies. Some of these models have a hardware defect that does not allow for hardware accelerated HD playback. If I was buying a new video card today and getting best value NvidiaGT is the starting point - this is the point where all the purevideo features are all enabled.

Posted 09 May - PM Your list of requirements ffdshow and HD capabilities depend more on the CPU than the graphics card. Although the latest graphics cards have plenty of hardware acceleration of HDTV that is more marketing than any practical use, as there is a very limited range of playback software which is capable of using those features and in practice HDTV material can be played back using software decoders in Zoom Player so long as your CPU is fast enough.

DRM may be an unnecessary "feature" of Windows Vista which is only relevant to software copy protection in a corporate environment or more likely in my view it may turn out to be a requirement if you want to legally play Blu-Ray and HD-DVD on a PC.

Nobody really knows at present. In my opinion we will see exactly the same situation again: among millions of frustrated PC owners wanting to play HD-DVD and BluRay on their current model PCs, there must surely be some very talented hackers with the capability of cracking the protection quite fast.

But maybe you do not want to rely on illegal software to enjoy content on your HTPC? The specification you list is more than fast enough. I have a very similar specification PC and it can play back every type of HD demo material that I have tried, with ease - the toughest test material is probably the 'Marie Antoinette' trailer available at Apple.
